Live in the Moment | Poetry
Today I wanted to write, but nothing was disturbing me enough to take it to pieces
I haven’t had a run in with the beauty of the world
I wasn’t struck by lightning or mesmerized to the height of creation
Today, I’m content
A feeling I can’t explain in words
I want to sit still, silently and smile
Thank my worries for staying quiet
My mind, for having creative control
The sun, for shining at the right temperature
Today, for giving me another fair chance
Take a moment, hold it and open it
Feel it, believe it, try to acknowledge its existence
It’s presence, its potential and the positive energy it can accumulate
It’s one moment, one second on the clock, a tap of pen on paper,
One dot, a start, one step that leads to another, one heartbeat
One and only one out of a million more to come
It can change your world
Single moments strung together, life on a necklace
Dozens and countless that have no substantial meaning
But they do
They filling spaces, bridging gaps from one good moment to another
So grab that moment that has importance
Hold it and open it
Save it, cherish it and keep it safe for a rainy day
It pays when you need it most
Because when memory finds that moment useful
It will live
Live in the moment

This is brilliant: an excellent idea thoroughly well worked out – when you could have just said you’d no ideas and blamed it all on writers’ block! But this is more than that small triumph. Much more!
